POSITION OVERVIEW
AITC is seeking a Telecommunications Technician - Senior to perform O&M for both ISP & OSP and provide customer telephone/data requirements support. Serves as Site Manager responsible for the overall management and coordination of work required under this TO and act as a central point of contact with the Government.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
• Serve as the overall project manager and primary interface with customers.
• Serve as the technical project lead for all performance areas of delivery.
• Maintain overall responsibility for the delivery team.
• Provide daily supervision and direction to personnel across all functional areas of delivery.
• Manage, coordinate, and track work across all functional areas of delivery.
• Plan and implement large-scale projects with no impact on daily operations.
• Serve as the senior technical subject matter expert across all functional performance areas.
• Analyze and propose ideas, suggestions, and improvements relating to customer support.
• Review and evaluate personnel work and prepare performance reports.
• Perform O&M of the ISP systems and equipment.
o Perform all administrative, O&M functions, and routines required for the telephone switching equipment, voice mail system, firewall and other systems directly connected to the switch.
o Maintenance, install, test, optimize, and repair telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Support and maintain OSP requirements.
o Provide support to maintain, install, move, or remove all cable, to include copper, coaxial, underground buried, aerial, fiber optic cable and transmission systems equipment.
o Includes all cabling, connectors, terminations, and inner-ducts from point of demarcation to the installation point for the required service to include T-1, ISDN, DS-3, Ethernet, and optical carrier systems.
o Report any outside plant cabling or equipment issues not meeting Army Standards to the COR in writing immediately after discovery.
• Support customer telephone/data requirements to include:
o Respond to service requests and isolation and repair of telephone troubles.
o Process service orders for all approved moves, adds, and changes requirements.
• Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• 6 years related experience (4 years of experience as a Project Manager).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• ITIL Foundations within 6 months.
• SECRET Clearance
• Security CE (for ISP)
• Must be a US citizen.
• Able to work Overtime as required.
• Must be available to travel as required.
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledgeable in Army Network Enterprise Center operations
• Work experience with Avaya brand switches.
• May require CDL driver’s license and heavy equipment operator certs.
• BISCI, OEM, Certified Fiber Optic Technician (FOA) (CFOT) certification or similar industry certifications in equipment used to perform job (e.g., tester, splicer, and cabling type(s). TIA 102; EIA 310D; TIA 603C; Bonding Grounding JSTD 607A.
• One of the following (for ISP):
o CEH
o CFR
o Cloud
o GICSP
o SSCP
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work reliably under minimal supervision.
• Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction.
