IT Project Engineer is responsible for the completion of long-term IT engineering projects. Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Being an IT Project Engineer develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems. Additionally, IT Project Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. May require ongoing training in network/telecom seminars. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an IT Project Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     YOUR DAY TO DAY WILL INCLUDE:

    • Interact and work directly with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare various reports, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications and prepare permit submittals for structural engineering building type projects.
    • Develop detailed structural designs for a wide variety of projects including healthcare, higher education, and central energy plants, other ancillary buildings and structures associated with building and building systems infrastructure projects.
    • Be responsible for various tasks on several concurrent projects and must be able to follow these tasks through to completion within the allocated period of time and the monetary budget assigned.
    • Stay current with Local, State & Federal Design Standards and Regulations.
    • Review shop drawings, RFI's, material submittals and other construction documents and respond to contractor's questions during the construction phase of a project.
    • Make periodic site visits during the construction of a project to observe construction progress and compliance with the design.
    • In addition, you will have opportunity and responsibility to develop new work and clients related to structural engineering services.

    WHAT YOU NEED:

    • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural focus with NC Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to quickly acquire NC Professional Engineer (PE) through reciprocity.
    • 5-10 years of experience in structural analysis and design of healthcare, higher education, and related facilities and structures.
    • Knowledge of North Carolina Building Code and International Building code, design standards including ASCE, ACI and AISC.
    • Experience with structural analysis and finite element software such as StaadPro and Visual Analysis.
    • Experience with developing drawing deliverables in Autocad format
    • Must be able to work as part of a project team.
    • Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments.
    • Technically competent, a team player and good communications ability required.

    WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

    • Experience with healthcare projects is preferred but not required.
    • Experience with Higher Education projects is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in Revit software is also preferred but not required.
