The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Site Manager and in conjunction with the Overall Project Manager, the Project Manager will assume responsibility for the end-to-end management of the project portfolio related to the launch of a new manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible to identify key and manage primary milestones related to engineering, permitting, compliance, and construction of facilities and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage manufacturing facility startup projects end-to-end, ensuring adherence to budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Manage the facility build out process from basic design concept though completion, including facility design through manufacturing equipment installation.
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to define project scopes and objectives while ensuring technical feasibility.
- Champion cross-functional teams, coordinating their efforts towards achieving project objectives.
- Formulate a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, ensuring resource availability and appropriate allocation.
- Employ suitable verification techniques to manage modifications to project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Create and maintain extensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Furnish regular progress reports to the Site Manager and Overall Project Manager.
Environmental, Safety, Risk & Compliance:
- Champions a strong EHS culture on site. Ensures contractors and staff are competent, adequately trained and supported to enable them to carry out their duties safely.
- Supports a strong culture of near miss reporting across all staff to assist in driving improvements to the site safety, compliance, and environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in plant manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in new plant/facility construction management.
- Demonstrated a successful project management track record in an industrial engineering environment, particularly leading manufacturing facility startup projects.
- Prior experience with contractor management, multiple-bid procurement processes, manufacturing facility design, construction management, facility and manufacturing safety,
- Exhibited exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, displaying strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiently utilize project management software such as Microsoft Project.
- Proficiently utilize Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
- Fluent in English.
Desired Experience & Background:
- Hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or its equivalent.
- Familiar with Mexico building code, utilities, and industrial safety requirements.
