    Hoplark is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to join our Operations Team. This role will be responsible for driving purpose, vision, and engagement within the QA team as well as managing the day-to-day operations.

    The FSQA Manager will report to the Plant Manager. This role is based in Colorado with the expectation to be onsite at our brewery Monday-Friday.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION EXPECTATIONS

    • Assure compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
    • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and auditing HACCP plans and SOPs
    • Lead and manage a team of QA professionals
    • Manage the QA team in the development and implementation of new procedures and policies to increase business effectiveness and efficiencies
    • Oversee and direct all internal food safety policies and procedures, including training internal employees
    • Work cross-functionally to contribute to the development of new products and processes with a focus on food safety
    • Monitor and enforce GMP, proper sanitation, and housekeeping procedures
    • Lead all external and internal audits, including SQF, Kosher, Customer, and FDA
    • Manage and improve SQF management system
    • Serve as the internal lead on product labeling, specifically nutritional and ingredient statements
    • Ensure departmental compliance with all company and other applicable policies and procedures; review all correction actions
    • Support the business by providing technical assistance on quality and food safety standards & guidelines
    • Collaborate with other departments in order to implement procedures and improve Quality performance
    • Verify all daily QC and QA documentation
    • Direct recall and traceability programs, including mock recalls
    • Perform customer return audits and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action
    • Oversee the environmental testing program

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in a management role in a food manufacturing and/or food distribution facility
    • Excellent knowledge of HACCP & HARPC and experience in implementation of Food Safety Management Plans
    • Certification by recognized HACCP training provider required
    • Working knowledge of regulations and guidelines imposed upon food manufacturing operations by federal and state agencies and authorities required
    • Self-directed, self-motivated, and self-managing with ability to simultaneously prioritize tactical and strategic objectives
    • Ability to proactively communicate critical information to peers, the production line team, and leadership
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures, as well as disseminate that information
    • Ability to delegate, coach, and teach QA Associates
    • Be comfortable using and updating data tracking software and spreadsheets as needed
    • Ability to multitask and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast-paced and evolving work environment
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team leadership role
    • Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and discern discrepancies
    • Good understanding of quality assurance and how to implement better practices
    • Problem solving skills necessary for troubleshooting processes
    • Foresight to control for or otherwise redirect impending issues
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced changing environment
    • Previous experience in a startup/early-stage business is a plus!
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to create and build from the ground up

    Equal Pay for Equal Work Act

    Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq., the compensation range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 with a bonus potential of 10%. Compensation will be determined based on skills and experience.
