The Role:

The Quality Assurance Manager will have primary responsibility for the site quality functions and initiatives. This includes leading the site business and quality management systems, ISO 9001 compliance, serving as the face of quality to internal and external customers, supporting site quality and lean improvements, and reporting quality performance to site leadership.

Responsibilities:

The Quality Assurance Manager is positioned to lead, govern, and execute the product and process quality responsibilities across the site. This comprises quality planning, contract compliance, nonconformance support and resolution, acceptance inspection and test setup and documentation, quality records, and root cause and preventative/corrective action. As the champion of quality, the position is poised to instill quality and lean principles driving effective and efficient practices embracing six sigma methodologies, defect prevention, and cascading lessons learned across products and processes.

Unique to the responsibilities and timing of this position, the primary priority of this role in 2022 will be the development and release of a new site Lean Quality Management System leading to an independent site ISO 9001 certification.

Requirements

• An applicable Bachelor’s (4-year) degree. An Engineering major degree is preferred.  
  
• Experience in a leadership position (e.g., team lead, supervisor, manager) is preferred.
  
• Demonstrated performance in quality compliance pertaining to contract, industry, and other regulatory flow downs.
  
• Proficiency in developing and applying an ISO 9001 quality management system, including internal audit is preferred.
  
• Demonstrated performance leading or as responsible authority for true root cause and preventative/corrective action assignments.
  
• Experience leading or having direct responsibility for supplier quality including supplier selection, quality systems validation, inspection planning, and defect analysis is preferred.
  
• Knowledge and experience using analytical tools such as SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why, or Fault Trees.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated team/relationship building skills.
  
• This position requires access to US export-controlled information.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
  
• 5-10% travel, both domestic and international, may be required to suppliers and customers.
