  • SCOPE OF POSITION:
    As the Quality Assurance Manager for Towmaster, you are responsible for creating and overseeing quality systems and processes that allow for the inspection, analysis, and corrective action.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Maintain, execute, and improve a Quality Management System that meets or exceeds industry and customer standards.
    • Direct the activities of the Quality Assurance department, ensuring that the appropriate skills, equipment, and training are in place to support Towmaster quality initiatives and objectives. Directly responsible for mentoring and developing the Quality Team.
    • Work collaboratively with Quality functions across company, using best practices to establish standard quality systems and procedures.
    • Acts as lead change agent and project champion for continuous improvement projects, Kaizan events, etc., throughout Towmaster, leading to quantifiable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
    • Ensures safety procedures are followed. Assists Management with OSHA inspections and other policies.
    • Develop, implement, train, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspections.
    • Serve as primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
    • Perform root cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective action, resolve problems, and create process improvements.
    • Set KPIs in alignment with business plan objectives as they pertain to warranty, re-work, etc.
    • Support the Engineering department by participating in design development representing quality assurance and the customer.
    • Establish and implement metrics for process effectiveness and assure process capability.
    • Develop warranty strategy and plan to ensure a unified approach for after-sell support.
    • Perform audits of customer feedback and field conditions.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Use logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Able to monitor and assess the performance of yourself, your team, or other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action.
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 5 years manufacturing or operations leadership role.
    • Experience managing Quality.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing principles. Green or black belt preferred.
