IT Quality Assurance Manager manages a group of quality assurance analysts who evaluate, test, and validate software and/or IT services. The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is primarily responsible for testing all IT applications that are either built in-house or the integration of commercial off the shelf products that integrate with our in-house applications to ensure they meet requirements and are of high quality. The QA Analyst collaborates with internal and external technical associates such as Business Analysts and Application Developers to plan, test, and implement all software changes to ensure that products conform to the desired quality standard. The QA Analyst is also accountable for defects and ensures that systems are operational and production ready. This position reports to the Director of IT Strategic Initiatives.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. Five to eight (5-8) years of IT QA experience. Experience with testing Web, EDI, and Oracle based applications. RDBMS experience to write SQL queries as required. Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools. Experience with automated testing is highly desired. Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers, and replication. Comfortable working in a waterfall or agile SDLC. Full knowledge of test methodologies, bug life cycle, and the stages of software development. Expertise in writing clear QA test plans, test cases, test procedures, and scripts. Test lead experience highly desired.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Certifications are preferred including CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst), CASQ (Certified Associate in Software Quality), ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), and Six Sigma. Knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, and defect management. Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA. Understanding of the various testing concepts (e.g. functional, usability, performance). Aptitude for analyzing data and business processes. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Work Environment And Physical Demands
Standard cubicle within a shared common area. Ability to use a PC with standard software packages. More than 50% of work is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, and/or lift objects of varying size, weighing up to 25 lbs.
