IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.     IT MANAGER, Nuclear Technology Solutions – Farley Nuclear Station

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Farley IT Manager is a mid-level manager position (Level 7 or 8) that provides on-site technical leadership and oversight of the on-site Nuclear Technology Solutions (NTS) team located at the Farley Nuclear station. This position provides 24/7, “first” responder support for all site technology issues involving software applications, telecommunications, network support and desktop support to the Farley site. The Farley IT Manager also serves as a member of the Southern Nuclear Site Vice President (VP) Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This includes representing Nuclear Technology Solutions (NTS) in both tactical and strategic SLT meetings (day-to-day and quarterly off-site). Additionally, the Site IT Manager is required to comply with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations. This includes the requirement to successfully pass (>80%) NRC and Southern Nuclear Corporation (SNC) yearly required exams, initial/random Federal Drug Testing program, psychological testing and criminal background investigations to ensure a drug/alcohol free work environment and to ensure employees are trustworthy and reliable.

    The Farley IT Manager is also responsible for effectively managing financial resources, including Southern Company Services (SCS) functional and billing budgets within the SNC budget. Other responsibilities include managing all Farley site and assigned Technology projects and initiatives. Broad technical and business acumen, as well as the ability to think strategically and act tactically, are important dimensions for success in this leadership role. As this position is a mid-level manager position, 4 – 6 years of experience in Nuclear Power or Generation is preferred. 6 – 10 years of Experience in Information Technology as a Supervisor or Technical Lead/Analyst is preferred. Individuals not meeting the preferred requirements, will be offered the position commensurate with their qualifications, either as a Level 7 or Level 8.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Engineering or currently have Bachelors in a non-technical degree with 6 years of experience in Information Technology/Computer Science is preferred. Individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology will be considered.
    • A Master’s degree is advantageous.
    • 4 – 6 years of site experience in Nuclear Power or Generation is preferred
    • 6 - 10 years of experience in Information Technology organization as either a Supervisor or Technical Lead/Analyst is preferred.
    • Day to day on-site supervision is required, working either 4-10’s or 5-8s. Telecommuting is only approved on a case-by-case basis.

    Experience and Knowledge:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience leading diverse teams to deliver significant projects on time and within budget.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the nuclear business unit or information technology experience is desired.
    • Previous supervisory, technical lead or managerial experience preferred but not required.
    • Fundamental knowledge of how IT adds value to these organizations. Experience in nuclear generation is advantageous.

    • Provide technology solutions to business problems to meet or exceed customer's expectations for functionality, quality, cost, and timely delivery.
    • Conduct business in accordance with SCS & SNC policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure a corporate, fleet or system-wide perspective is considered in all technology and process design activities.
    • Less than 10% travel is expected.
