IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. The Jackson Laboratory is seeking an IT Sourcing and Vendor Manager. Reporting to the Director, Procurement and Supply Chain, you'll have the opportunity to be a strategic partner that continually assesses business needs, the technology vendor market and incumbent vendor performance to determine the best options and sources of technology supply for the organization as well as collaborate with key stakeholders in IT, Finance and Legal to execute & manage IT contracts.
A successful candidate must be an effective change agent, working with senior leadership within the business and IT teams to drive enduring changes to how JAX sources technology and manages technology vendors and contracts. In this role, the individual will regularly interact with key IT, research and business leaders to balance cost, risk, and speed to ensure that JAX is able to realize its objectives. The skills to influence and drive change, combined with the drive to deliver results per the goals set, will enable the Sourcing Manager - IT to support the rapid evolution of digital business at JAX.
Prior experience in IT, business strategy, business analysis, or finance is highly desired.
An on-site presence in Farmington, CT is expected 2 days per week.
