IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Vendor Relationship Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Who You Are:


     The Manager of IT will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance. This manager will lead a team of skilled engineers, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to optimize our cloud systems and deliver exceptional operational efficiency. This role requires strong experience in cloud operations and system administration, along with excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. 

    What You'll Do:

    • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Cloud SRE team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
    • Cloud Infrastructure Operations: Oversee the management and operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across all environments. 
    • Reliability and Resilience: Define and implement best practices for system reliability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and incident management to minimize service disruptions and improve system resilience. 
    • Performance Optimization: Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize cloud infrastructure performance, capacity planning, and resource utilization, ensuring efficient scalability and cost-effectiveness. 
    • Automation and Tooling: Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational workflows, leveraging modern tooling, and DevOps practices to enhance efficiency and reliability. 
    • Monitoring and Alerting: Define and implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies to proactively identify and address potential issues, enabling proactive incident response and troubleshooting. 
    • Incident Management: Establish incident response processes and lead incident management efforts, ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and prevention of recurring issues. 
    • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to implement cloud infrastructure security measures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. 
    • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers, overseeing contract negotiations, service-level agreements (SLAs), and vendor performance. 
    • Team Development: Mentor and develop the Cloud SRE team, fostering their technical growth and professional advancement through training, performance management, and regular feedback. 
    • Perform any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Values.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Lead, inspire, and manage the team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and development. 
    • Take ownership of Recruitment and train the newly onboarded members of the team. 
    • Create a positive and supportive work environment, fostering innovation, diversity, inclusion, employee well-being, open communication, and constructive problem-solving. 
    • Implement a regular feedback mechanism to provide constructive feedback and recognize achievements. 
    • Set performance goals, metrics, and expectations for the team, conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback. 
    • Monitor resource utilization and identify potential bottlenecks or imbalances, taking proactive measures to address them. 
    • Initiate and oversee employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and job satisfaction. 
    • Take ownership of decisions and actions related to team performance and outcomes. 
    • Lead the team through periods of change, providing support and guidance to navigate transitions. 
    • Exemplify and uphold the company’s values and code of conduct in all interactions and decisions. 

    What You Will Need:

    • 5 years' experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) environments with exposure to Microsoft Azure. 
    • Experience working with multiple levels across an organization, from developers to executives. 
    • Hands on experience with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Git, Octopus Deploy, or Azure DevOps, enabling you to streamline and automate secure development workflows. 
    • Hands-on experience with a variety of security tools and technologies, including vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection systems, and cloud security solutions, ensuring the effective integration and management of these tools. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate with various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, and drive a culture of security awareness across the organization. 
    • Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or OWASP, to help guide the development and implementation of robust security policies and procedures. 

    Preferred Skills / Abilities (Nice-to-haves):

    • Knowledge of the Automotive industry a plus 
    • Relevant certifications such as AWS or Azure certifications a plus 

    Education and Experience:

    • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 
    • 5 years’ experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure operations, or related role, showcasing your ability to manage and implement security practices in a software development environment. 
    • 5 years hands-on experience in AWS, Azure and with cloud security practices 

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
