    Who We Seek

    Hispanic Federation seeks an Immigration Initiatives Manager to oversee to HF’s Immigration Programming in North Carolina. The Manager will coordinate and implement the department’s programmatic efforts across the region and manage programmatic records and data. The position will also support policy and advocacy components, ensuring a holistic application of HF policies to its programming in North Carolina and federally.

    Working under the supervision of the State Director and with the guidance of the HF Director for Immigration Programs, the Manager will support the development of community networks and ultimately lead the programming for Immigration Initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience working with communities in North Carolina around immigration policy, advocacy, or direct services; an interest in immigration law and practice; and experience working within nonprofits with program implementation.

    This position is a hybrid position and will require the Manager to work both onsite and in the field a minimum of 10 days a month (approx. 50% of the time). The position will be located in Mount Olive and will be required to travel to locations across North Carolina, including HF’s office in Charlotte, NC.

    Reports to:  Director of NC Operations

    Status: Position is full-time regular; hybrid role will require onsite work from Mount Olive and other designated locations.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and lead immigration programming in North Carolina through legal clinics, mobile immigration in-take sessions, and Know Your Rights Training across North Carolina.
    • Create a centralized referral system to promote participation in HF’s immigration programming; work with CBOs, Immigration Legal Service Providers, Government agencies, etc.
    • Conduct immigration-related outreach efforts, work closely with HF’s network in North Carolina and further expand our circle of known providers.
    • Conduct initial client intakes and legal screenings; provide case management to accepted clients and have proper follow-up and support.
    • Oversee all programmatic data tracking and ensure compliance with government grants and contracts as required.
    • Monitor immigration NC immigration policies that affect the community and ensure information is disseminated in a culturally competent manner.


    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of related experience, experience with Latino and Immigrant communities strongly preferred.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required, experience in community presentations and public education is an asset.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with staff at all levels and with diverse community
    • Must have an interest in immigration law and services, willing and able to become DOJ certified and attend professional development training on immigration law.
    • Understand North Carolina’s diversity and have experience working with people of diverse backgrounds.
    • Well developed writing is required with an ability to synthesize high level topics into more accessible language.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities with a focus on programmatic impact, positive experiences for clients, and achieving results.
    • Strong attention to detail and a focus on planning is a must.
    • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for serving the Latino community
    • Demonstrated commitment to advancing the Hispanic Federation’s values, mission, and goals
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
    • Able to work some nights and weekends as required by the program.

     

    Compensation and Benefits:

    The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance, 403(B) retirement plan – eligible for a company match, access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits. Full-time regular employees are also provided with fifteen (15) vacation days, four (4) personal days, and paid sick time.

    HF is a hybrid work environment with the opportunity to work from home 50% of the time.
