Riverside Magnet School at Goodwin University, a LEARN school located in East Hartford, has an immediate opening for a full time
Office Manager for Student Affairs Coordination. The Office Manager assumes responsibility, without supervision, for specific tasks as assigned by the Principal, assisting in the overall functions of the school in order to plan, develop, and implement quality programs. The Office Manager is responsible to, supervised, and evaluated by the Principal and Supervisor of Special Education of Riverside Magnet School. This exciting opportunity is a 12 month position with a full benefit package.
Specific Responsibilities-
Manage operational aspects for the school, including schedules, student reports, and parent communication.
- Organize and manage all special education and 504 files, meetings with partner districts and families in accordance with LEARN policies and Connecticut State Statutes.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of all aspects of the Riverside Magnet School and be able to act as a contact person in the absence of the Principal.
- Communicate with staff, districts, outside agencies, RESCs, and other partners.
- Development of school brochures and announcements.
- Coordinate support for multiple interdistrict programs in cooperation with staff and Principal.
- Provide support for programs or parts of programs as needed (i.e., lottery/registration).
- Assure timeliness of state reports (i.e. ED166).
- Support school efforts in developing capacity and providing services.
- Demonstrate ability to use a variety of technologies in program administration as well as related to teaching and learning.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Experience and Training
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and appropriately take the lead on projects.
- Track record of success in an office environment, especially within a school or other service field.
- Strong sense of professionalism, discretion, and collaboration.
- General understanding and knowledge of LEARN policies and procedures.
- Able to balance work responsibilities and accommodate changing needs and priorities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with children, staff, and families.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications.
Qualifications: Associate Degree and/or related experience, ability to lift 35 lbs, ability to travel to school districts or sites of programs, strong problem-solving skills.
