    We are seeking an experienced Import Manager to join our team. As an Import Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the import process, managing logistics, and ensuring efficient transportation of goods. This is a key role in our organization, and we are looking for a highly skilled individual who can effectively manage import operations

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible overseeing the daily communications with Import Brokerage/Drayage companies to facilitate containers/trailers delivery in an efficient and timely manner
    • Monitor and tracks containers on the vessel to make sure ocean freight holds and custom hold have all been removed; tracking that the trucking company has appointments.
    • Oversees planning and organized to avoid any demurrage or detention charges at the port.
    • Directs the Tracking and tracing container shipments via terminal portals ensuring that cargo is arriving on time; Tracking and tracing (port availability, delivery status, etc.).
    • Responsible for planning and preparing the international paperwork while maintaining excellent relationships with multiple Logistic Providers, sales, and purchasing teams.
    • Reviews and ensure documentations are accurate; processed in time; Ensure smooth transactions for all overseas goods and maintain accuracy of all financial information.
    • Maintains knowledge on all rules and regulations of import processes and ensure efficient transmission of all import goods and prepare and complete all purchase orders and ensure accuracy of all files and maintain records for same on account payable system and track all products.
    • Directs the follow up on Ocean shipments; Organize files both manually and electronically; Reviews and follow-up on purchase orders and verifies shipping is on schedule.
    • Update shipment status, issue arrival notice and obtain entry documents for customs entries. Communicate with customs brokers to confirm customs release status.
    • Arranges freight release with carriers/co-load agents, confirm cargo availability.
    • Reconcile import files and accurate data input of import files in ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Navision).

    SKILLS:

    • Proficiency in import software and transportation management systems
    • Knowledge of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations
    • Strong understanding of logistics sales and customer relationship management
    • Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for electronic document exchange
    • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
    • Ability to lead a team and effectively manage import operations
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years of import experience in a warehouse distribution center setting.

    Computer Skills: Solid experience in Microsoft Office.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
