The City of Johnson City, Tennessee is accepting online applications for a Geospatial Administrator. This senior level technical position will oversee performance, stability, reliability, and overall functionality of the City's enterprise GIS. Primary accountability and reporting are to the Geospatial Manager. The Geospatial Administrator is accountable for enterprise geodatabase design, data integrity, system uptime, and ensuring a coordinated approach to geospatial information and products across the organization. The Geospatial Administrator acts as the system administrator for the GIS and is focused on service delivery of operational GIS components for Citywide and department initiatives (e.g. analysis, mapping, application configuration and deployment, geodatabase development) as well as integrations with third party software systems that utilize GIS as a component. The Geospatial Administrator manages the core GIS technology service stack for the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Acceptable Experience and Training: Bachelor's degree or greater required in Geographic Information Systems or related discipline with three years of experience including at least two years' experience in GIS system administration. Applicant should have GISP or other relevant professional certification. Supervisory experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate.
Other Requirements: Serves as backup to the Geospatial Analyst and provides support for addressing, data conversion and other processing needs as necessary to support the GIS mission. Geospatial and information technologies quickly change and evolve. Employees must be committed to regular continuing education and training to maintain the necessary body of knowledge.
