    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

     

     

    This position develops and maintains equipment and labor capacity models for FDMX’s manufacturing department. Interfaces closely with design and manufacturing engineering in coordinating release of new product and equipment. This position is responsible for lean systems training and driving operational excellence in manufacturing. Individual will be the primary resource for supporting and educating department personnel in the Lean Transformation at FDMX. The position will provide practical, hands-on training in manufacturing on 5S, Value Stream Mapping, 8 Wastes, Yellow Belt Certifications and Shop Floor Kaizen events. Responsibilities include measuring and reporting progress on an on-going basis to CI management using PRINT (Production Resources Improving Nva Tasks) as a primary tool.  Develops systems to drive a continuous improvement culture and works closely with Six Sigma CI team on trainings. Works closely with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing to improve time standards, increase capacity, improves layout and communication to manufacturing dept. associates. Facilitates monthly steering meetings with Quality, Mfg. Engineering, MES and Project Management to prioritize projects and PRINT requests into appropriate subcategories.

    Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Adapts style and uses persuasion in delivering messages that relate to the wider firm business. Frequently advises others on complex matters. May be accountable through team for delivery of tactical business targets.

    Typical Degree & Years of Experience

    Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

     

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

     

    • Perform annual capacity review and ensure that all (SWCS) Standard Work Combination Sheets are accurate and up to date.
    • Maintains capacity tool and ensures that all key stakeholders are trained for on-the-spot reviews as required.
    • Works closely with engineering on time observations for implementation of equipment
    • Manage process equipment locations and coordinates moves with ETS and Facilities
    • Interfaces with design and manufacturing engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
    • Work as project lead on cross-functional team for special projects as requested by management.
    • Makes recommendations for equipment and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
    • Works closely with EH&S to support ergonomic improvement efforts.
    • Creates CAD layouts and workflow simulation models.
    • Work with various departments to create improved layouts of work areas.
    • Work closely with PRINT Steering Committee to identify projects that improve Safety, Quality and Delivery in manufacturing.
    • Support and develop process documentation to ensure all methods are clear and controls are in place to improve Safety, Quality and Delivery.
    • Uses Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive PRINT projects and standardized training curriculum.
    • Standardize PRINT program and run events that help foster the development of manufacturing Techs, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers.
    • Develops training materials and effectively deliver in a team environment to ensure employees in manufacturing are trained in CI PRINT concepts and philosophies.
    • Facilitate PRINT Kaizen events and teams. Follow up and audit event progress to ensure results are achieved in a timely manner and sustained.
    • Resolve implementation issues and roadblocks for manufacturing personnel by working closely with PRINT steering committee.
    • Support motivating, coaching, and developing people in various departments.
    • Participate in and present kaizen results at Thursday’s CI meetings once per month.
    • Create a rewards program for completed PRINT Kaizen events that results in higher throughput.
    • Able to work through constraints of timeline, budget, schedule, and scope while adhering to engineering processes and methodologies.

    REQUIRED:

    ·        Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience.

    ·        8 or more years of related experience

    ·        Excellent interpersonal skills required to gain cross functional support for projects, programs, and initiatives.

    ·        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    ·        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    ·        Ability to speak effectively in large group settings.

    ·        Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

    ·        Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    ·        Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    ·        Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    ·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    ·        Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks

     

    DESIRED:

    ·     Six Sigma Green Belt level or higher

    ·     Experience with manual and automated assembly processes

    ·     Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

    ·     Professional Engineering License

    ·     Working knowledge of Power Suite – Power Automate, Power Bi
