Purpose: Responsible for improving efficiency, ensure quality and lowering unit cost. Identify and evaluate problems and develop improvements to production, distribution, material usage and methods of operations by using proven Industrial Engineering and LEAN techniques to reduce unit cost, improve quality and productivity.
Impact on Business:
* Reduce overall operational cost through efficiency improvement activities.
* Increase productivity and efficiency within the facility and improve agreed upon SLA's.
* Improve warehouse management decision-making capability.
* Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
* Present and sell recommendations to the Manager of Industrial Engineering and potentially all levels of management.
* Conduct feasibility studies of various projects to determine the value of an investment and provide an economical justification for capital appropriations.
* Update labor standards as needed to reflect process improvements.
Customer/Suppliers/Third Parties:
* Serve as an outside consultant to the operation making recommendations to the management team to improve internal and external processes.
* Interacts with hourly distribution/TFE employees to determine best methods and will also serve as an agent for change within the warehouse.
Innovation and Change:
* Analyze complex processes and recommend positive change.
* Responsible for driving improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery across the business via the application of I.E. best practices and Lean Manufacturing activities.
* Ensure improvements are sustained through the introduction of work instructions, quality standards, workplace organisation, training records and performance measurement.
* Must interact with all levels of management

* Communicate and interact with all levels of the management team.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
* Broad background in Industrial Engineering technology and application.
* Must be able to identify and evaluate problems and develop improvements to production, material usage and methods of operations by using proven Industrial Engineering techniques.
* Be able to utilize any recognized industrial engineering techniques effectively and produce tangible results.
* Identifying, evaluating, and developing project solutions and recommendations for minimizing total operational costs.
* Project management skills recommended.
* Must be able to influence others in a multi-culture environment
* Position requires a candidate that has a basic understanding of work measurement.
* Developing and implementing direct labor standards for costing, manning, and evaluating performance where required.
* Must be able to work independently
* Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
* Performing other special projects or assignments for the Manager of Industrial Engineer.
* Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs periodically
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
* Candidate should have a degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field.
* A minimum of two years of experience in an Engineering or closely related field.
* Competency with Excel, Word, Access and MS Project is required.
* Experience with AutoCad is highly desirable
