Overview

In this role as the Manager of Safety and Industrial Hygiene your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop, implement and review procedures, policies, facilities, and production safety plans for compliance with State and Federal Occupational Safety & Health requirements.
• Analyze injury and hazard data to develop strategies for continued reduction in risk exposure, accidents and injuries.
• Administer Electric Boat's Safety Management System to ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 45001.
• Ensure health and safety training for employees, subcontractors and other guests are appropriately administered.
• Enforce compliance with safety and health policies, procedures and regulations.
• Supervise safety and industrial hygiene department staff and manages department resources and budget.
• Prepare and present safety information to senior management, safety committees, operations, and operations support staff.
• Prepare Safety and Health performance reports and distributes as required.
• Facilitate accident/incident investigations, safety inspections, and safety management system audits.
• Interface with departments across the Company, with particular interest on working with the Operations team to improve safety.
• Interface with OSHA and other pertinent regulatory agencies as required.
• Provide recommendations to management for the improvement of EB's health and safety programs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene related fields
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related scientific discipline 
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience 

Preferred:

• Professional Certification (CSP and/or CIH)
• Masters degree in safety related field

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary when working with employees to ensure the safest, most efficient work setting possible.
