    Job Description

    Major purpose:

    · Assist principal engineers with overseeing the design, production, testing and installation of X-ray Generators, Digital Imaging and Pulse Power equipment.

    · This includes both hardware and software aspects of x-ray generation and imaging systems.

    · This is an entry-level position. Limited use and application of basic principles, theories and concepts.

    · Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Work closely supervised.

    · Follows specific, detailed instructions.

    · Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor.

    Major functions:

    · Works in an industrial environment building and testing high-voltage electrical equipment

    · Operates mixers and other blending equipment to mix raw materials into liquid epoxy

    · Completes required tests and inspections to ensure batches meet quality standards

    · Completes transfer of blended for use in finished good production line

    · Prepares molds, pours epoxies, cures epoxies and cleans molds after use

    · Assembles mechanical and electrical products

    · Builds and repairs electrical cabling and wire harnesses

    · Integrates sub-assemblies into final system, including final acceptance testing

    · Operate X-ray producing equipment on inert, industrial samples

    Technical/Functional skills:

    Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:

    · Good written and verbal communications skills.

    · Zero to three years of of machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment and a HS Diploma/GED are required. .

    · Prior experience blending raw materials into large batches of product in a manufacturing, environment preferred

    · Basic knowledge of electrical circuits

    · Proficient with computer applications, such as Word, Access, Excel, etc.

    · Ability to review and interpret work instructions, designs and drawings, with tooling and end item processes and products

    · Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels

    · Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    · Strong problem solving ability

    · Willingness to meet customer needs

    · Ability to multitask and prioritize

    · Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence

    · Technical background in NDT methods and procedures a plus

    · Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) certification a plus

    · Physical Abilities: Use of arms, hands and fingers; lift and carry; focus on objects within 20 inches, shift focus and distinguish colors as needed to perform assigned experiments.

    · Requires US Citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance

    · Experience on the Job: 0 to 3 years required. Previous experience with Flash X-ray equipment a plus.

    Minimum Education:

    HS Diploma/GED are required

    Work Environment:

    · The noise level in the environment is usually low to moderate.

    · The environment is well lit and ventilated.

    · Hazards - Occasional risk of burns, electric shock, cuts and burns from tooling.

    · Exposure to unpleasant odors and chemicals under safe conditions.

    Job Type: Contract

    Pay: $30.00 per hour

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday

    Education:

    • High school or equivalent (Required)

    Experience:

    • high-voltage electrical equipment testing: 3 years (Required)
    • X-ray producing: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Flash X-ray equipment: 1 year (Preferred)

    Ability to Relocate:

    • San Leandro, CA 94577: Relocate before starting work (Required)
