Industrial Hygienist jobs in Beaumont, TX
Industrial Hygienist coordinates, plans and conducts programs to educate employees about cleanliness, safety and sanitation in the workplace. Inspects facilities and work areas to prescribes corrective actions to reduce the health risks. Being an Industrial Hygienist provides advice on methods and procedures to reduce occupational health risks. Determines measures to avoid any recurrence of accidents. Additionally, Industrial Hygienist evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes maintenance of a sanitary working environment. Conducts training in environmental compliance and the handling of hazardous materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Industrial Hygienist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. - Investigate and examine the workplace for current risks, emerging, and developing risks.
- Analyze the risks stemming from the identified workplace hazards.
- Evaluate risks to achieve As Low As Reasonably Practical (ALARP) risk levels.
- Make recommendations on improving the health and safety of workers and the surrounding community (apply appropriate risk treatment).
- Monitor and review the proposed control measures to improve productivity, sustainability, and product stewardship.
- Align industrial hygiene programs with the operational, financial, and strategic objectives of the organization.
- Develop a business case for industrial hygiene interventions and improvements.
- Communicate the value of industrial hygiene risk assessment and risk treatment in terms of financial and non-financial benefits.
- Work together with senior managers and clients to fully integrate industrial hygiene programs.
Education:- Possess either a baccalaureate degree in engineering, chemistry, physics or a closely related biological or physical science from an accredited college or university, who also has a minimum of 2-3 years of industrial hygiene experience.
