Industrial Hygienist jobs in Lowell, MA
Industrial Hygienist coordinates, plans and conducts programs to educate employees about cleanliness, safety and sanitation in the workplace. Inspects facilities and work areas to prescribes corrective actions to reduce the health risks. Being an Industrial Hygienist provides advice on methods and procedures to reduce occupational health risks. Determines measures to avoid any recurrence of accidents. Additionally, Industrial Hygienist evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes maintenance of a sanitary working environment. Conducts training in environmental compliance and the handling of hazardous materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Industrial Hygienist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Responsibilities:
- Collect medical and dental histories from patients
- Chart dental conditions based on dentists observations and evaluations
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Expose radiographs
- Provide any chair side assistance as necessary for routine hygiene visits
- Deep Scaling
- Anesthesia license (preferred, not required)
- Calling patients for overdue recare
- Stocking treatment areas and taking inventory
- Providing patient care and support
- Polish, floss and fluoride as needed
- Sealant application
- Updating patient record and exam notes
