Loader Operator – Front-end
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Operates a front-end loader to deliver and dump materials to locations within the plant, including feed hoppers, stock piles, reject piles, haul trucks and customer trucks.
JOB DUTIES
- Safely operates a front-end loader.
- Cleans the bucket to prevent cross-contamination of materials.
- Responsible for the safe performance of loading a front-end loader bucket, and spotting a haul truck or customer truck

- Transporting material
- dumping a bucket of material onto stockpiles and hoppers
- Back-dragging a pile of material and performs clean-up of materials around the plants.
- May operate the loader in all types of weather and terrain.
- Conducts pre and post trip inspections in accordance with MSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations.
- Responsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazards.
- Responsible for knowing and safely performing the procedures for start-up and shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident.
- Maintains a clean and safe operating record.
- Attends bi-weekly safety meetings.
- When not operating the loader, may be required to assist with operation of the recycle crushing plant or other heavy equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record of punctuality and dependability.
- Must have a safe driving record with one year driving experience and be willing to work nights.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English over the radio and to supervisors and co-workers regarding plant operations.
WORK DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, dust mask respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other personal protective equipment.
- Employee may be exposed to dusty and noisy environments and may occasionally be working in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.22 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
