The Infection Control Preventionist (RN) will promote, coordinate, and monitor our state-of-the-art infection control program within assigned skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Under the leadership of our Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Infection Control Programming.
The Infection Control Preventionist will Coordinate the Infection Control Program, providing guidance and professional assistance to assure there is structure and resources needed to implement an effective infection control program. Ensures compliance to regulatory standards that relate to skilled nursing infection control practices. Provides ongoing surveillance of infectious diseases present in the facility and takes appropriate steps to contain and prevent the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in accordance with CDC guidelines and facility policies. Provides orientation to new staff regarding infection control principles and provides ongoing education and resources for resident care units.
The Infection Control Preventionist will work directly with Regional Nurse Consultants, Regional Directors of Operations, and facility Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Infection Control Specialists, and other staff members to ensure that each facility has fully implemented all aspects of our infection control program which is designed to comply in all respects with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and other federal and state guidelines.
The Infection Control Preventionist (RN) will provide training and supervision to facility-based Infection Control Specialists and will be responsible for evaluating each facility’s adherence to the program and designing remedial action plans to ensure regulatory compliance and resident and staff safety.
