Prepares simple cultures as needed for environmental and individual studies. Additionally, Infection Control Coordinator evaluates sterilization and disinfection methods and recommends changes as necessary. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Infection Control Coordinator contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The infection control nurse is responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP), which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections.
*Must have a valid GA RN license, be detail oriented, organized, a self-starter, basic computer skills, and able to multi-task.
*Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Working directly with the director of nursing, medical director, administrator, and other key personnel to ensure standards, policies and procedures are being followed.
