As an Infection Control Nurse at Civita Care Center at West River, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of our residents by overseeing and maintaining our infection control program. Your responsibilities will include:

Infection Control Functions:

• Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the infection control program to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
• Communicating compliance-related issues to the appropriate parties.
• Conducting surveillance and inspections to monitor and ensure consistent adherence to infection prevention procedures within established quality standards.
• Collaborating with and assisting supervisors and professionals in training and educating all personnel on the importance of required infection prevention procedures.
• Preparing necessary reports for quarterly medical staff meetings.
• Monitoring and tracking all resident and staff infections.
• Overseeing the reporting of any outbreaks within the facility.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Certification in Infection Prevention Training Course by CDC.
• Hold a current state RN and be a nurse in good standing.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility. 
• Knowledgeable about general, rehabilitative, and infection control requirements, OSHA laws and regulations, nursing and medical practices, and guidelines governing long-term care.
