Responsible for clinical identification, risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues.
Provides intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services; in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health and well-being of all patients, visitors and hospital staff.
Coordinates risk programs with all facility departments, administration and the Chief of Quality. Reports real and potential risk situations to the Governing Body, medical staff, administration, facility departments and committees, as appropriate.
Responsible for establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate and/or reduce risk situations associated with the provision of patient care and services.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for leading a collaborative approach to risk management and regulatory compliance and is the person designated responsible for the following programs: risk, safety, compliance, infection control, and emergency preparedness. The Manager works with other members of the Clinical Services team to develop the annual risk management plan(s) for identifying and mitigating risk and ensuring compliance throughout the organization. The Manager works with staff from all levels of the organization and with all disciplines to reduce and mitigate risk in all clinical services and all administrative departments. The Manager works with staff at all levels to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. The Manager works with cross functional staff to identify best practices and works with the Clinical Services team to implement processes that improve patient care and mitigates risk. The Manager will assist in implementing standards, policies and procedures in support of local, state, federal and other regulatory requirements.
