Infection Control Manager develops and implements infection control policies designed to reduce or eliminate outbreaks in the facility. Develops and implements facility-wide infection prevention and control measures to protect patients, staff and visitors. Being an Infection Control Manager monitors patient care for compliance with established standards and investigates known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and ensure control. Develops and provides related education to staff. Additionally, Infection Control Manager complies with state, federal and Joint Commission standards relating to infection control. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Infection Control Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. General Summary: The Special Procedures Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and provides nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the patient’s progression toward optimal health. The Special Procedures Nurse provides, directs and guides patient/family teaching to prepare the patient for special procedures. The Special Procedures Nurse is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.
Patient Population: Has contact with patients in a clinical setting; understands and demonstrates appropriate behavior when interacting with patients in the adult (18-65 years if age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.
Essential Functions:
Requirements
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in an acute or LTACH setting is preferred. Two years prior experience in a peri-operative setting is strongly preferred.
Education: Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program is required.
Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse license in the state where practicing is required. Current BLS certification is required. ACLS certification is required. All Special ProceduresNurses must maintain
