The Information Technology (IT) department provides reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems to support staff productivity, ensuring a high level of integrity and effectiveness for Holt’s work.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Holt seeks a unique combination of strategic and hands-on leadership for our dynamic IT department. As a vital member of the senior leadership team, the IT Director will develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with Holt’s business goals. The IT director oversees all aspects of IT operations, ensuring a secure, reliable, and efficient technology infrastructure that empowers our employees and fuels our growth.
Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy that prioritizes data protection, minimizes risk, addresses vulnerabilities, and ensures ongoing compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS). This includes overseeing regular penetration testing (pen testing) to identify and address security weaknesses before they can be exploited. Provide insightful data and analysis on network and security status to support strategic decision-making by executive leadership.
2. Assures reliable and secure operation of complex IT systems
Monitor existing systems for acceptable processing benchmarks, provide daily backups, maintain data integrity, and manage on-site and cloud-based storage.
3. Maintains and enhances IT systems
Implement proactive monitoring and troubleshooting solutions to identify and address hardware and software malfunctions before they impact operations. Manage vendor relationships to secure timely technical support when needed. Oversee the procurement and installation of appropriate equipment to ensure optimal performance and capacity for Holt's IT systems. Implement solutions that identify hardware and software malfunctions, obtain technical service as necessary, and purchase and install appropriate equipment for Holt systems. Develop and implement appropriate network use and security policies and procedures that are understood and followed by end-users and enforced by the IT team.
4. Drive innovation and continuous improvement
Stay abreast of emerging technologies by attending professional development opportunities, reviewing industry publications, and building professional networks. Evaluate new technologies to identify those that can optimize business processes. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the IT department, encouraging ongoing skill development and exploration of innovative solutions. Develop a comprehensive IT roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on their potential to improve efficiency, security, and alignment with business goals.
5. Resolves problems
Support the IT Ticketing system, researching and reporting on ongoing computer problems, developing and implementing both day-to-day and long-term solutions for technology challenges, and directing the activities of the IT staff to provide daily support and training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB-EVALUATION DOCUMENTATION
KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of complex locally hosted and cloud-based IT systems. Thorough understanding of the use of information technology by both headquarters and remote staff. Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field and eight years of experience. Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing IT team as well as managing complex projects.
SYSTEMS PERFORMANCE: Analyze networks and systems to enhance the reliability of information access. Assess systems operations and prioritize the IT resources to enhance performance and efficiency. Monitor ever-changing security systems and processes to protect Holt’s IT and information assets and ensure availability.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Research, recommend, and implement appropriate enterprise technology solutions with a focus on appropriate stewardship of budgeted resources. Ability to work independently and supervise staff. Analyze situations and recommend and implement policies and procedures to alleviate problems. Directs work of IT Staff to provide daily support and training for computer users.
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Skilled communicator who works well with other employees to obtain compliance with policies and procedures. Ability to provide technical training and support to computer users and inspires vision for future IT solutions. Works with vendors when necessary to solve problems—ability to exercise sound judgment, courtesy, and tact in contact with employees and the public.
IMPACT OF RESULTS: Reliable and secure computer operations provide vital information to support and improve the organization’s activities through efficient, reliable solutions. Staff have sufficient computer resources to meet their department and individual work requirements and expectations.
