Position: Information Services Coordinator
Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Information Services, the Information Services Coordinator is responsible for developing a command of non-clinical autism content, including an in-depth knowledge the disability service systems in New Jersey, in service of Autism New Jersey’s 800.4.AUTISM Helpline. The Information Services Coordinator will join the information services team in responding to all inquiries submitted to the helpline in a timely, clear, and compassionate manner.
Core Responsibilities:
· Answer calls and respond to emails received on our 800.4.AUTISM Helpline
· Work compassionately and patiently with individuals and families in crisis
· Record call progress and notes in Autism New Jersey’s computer call module
· Attend information fairs and community events
· Hold meetings with, develop relationships with, and assist service providers, professionals, case managers, care managers, and other state actors
· Learn and master information about autism, effective treatment, and service navigation
Universal Responsibilities
· Maintain all relevant professional standards including ethics and confidentiality and all applicable certifications and licenses
· Represent Autism New Jersey in the community where appropriate
· Participate in agency events and any other activities as directed by your supervisor
· Collaborate across departments on various projects to support the mission and vision of Autism New Jersey
· Provide outstanding customer service by phone, email and in person
Notes: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) non-exempt from overtime.
Required Qualifications:
· Dedication to helping improve the lives of people with autism
· Ability to work as a team, exhibit professionalism, and exercise good judgment
· Ability to learn, understand, and recall complex ideas and solve novel problems
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communications skills
· Excellent time management and calendar control
· Master's degree in social work, human services, direct service provision, special education, or a related field
· Ability to master content and deliver presentations
Desired Qualifications
· Spoken and written Spanish proficiency
· Knowledge of autism, Applied Behavior Analysis; effective treatment; and the early intervention, educational, and adult service systems that support individuals with autism
· Knowledge of health insurance, including prior authorizations, mental health parity, medical necessity, appeals
· Demonstrated proficiency using, maintaining, and improving data bases (e.g., Neon, iCarol, Navigate)
