SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
To plan, manage, direct, supervise and regularly evaluate the District technology systems and functions in a manner consistent with established philosophies, goals and policies, providing quality and efficient services to all students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong technology skills with Microsoft and Apple systems
- Ability to set long range goals and establish written technology plans
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the creation, implementation and ongoing evaluation of a district technology plan that supports and provides a long-range vision for technology within the school district.
- Provides leadership for short and long-range planning for all technology initiatives: vision, goals, program objectives/strategies/activities, infrastructure, staffing, training, evaluation, budgeting and collaboration with others.
- Maintain and secure the District’s LAN infrastructures, Internet access including internet filtering, anti-virus/mal-ware protection, e-mail and all other web systems.
- Maintain all the District’s servers (physical & virtual), workstations and tablets.
- Maintain all the District’s electronic security systems, including but not limited to FOB readers, cameras and alarms.
- Represent the district technology program to school staff and students and the public.
- Develop, coordinate and manage the information support systems as well as assess the district’s educational needs. Implement program services and monitor/evaluate district technology systems.
- Identify and recommend the purchase and distribution of equipment, prepare system specifications, prepare purchasing information and manage site and system license agreements.
- Communicate to stakeholder’s appropriate ethical and professional behavior for technology use in the district.
- Evaluates educational technology programs for the purpose of providing recommendation for the integration of educational technology into the curriculum.
- Establish and lead advisory committees that inform and support meaningful and effective uses of technology in support of the districts strategic goals.
- Keep apprised of changes in trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to the use of technology in the school systems by attending professional meetings, by subscribing to educational technology publications, list-servs, social media tools and attending workshops and state technology conferences.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology
