The I.T. Specialist provides clients with information and assistance regarding issues with computers and related devices or software. The Information Technology Specialist ensures proper computer operation so that clients can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving client help requests. This position may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools as well as require that the individual give in–person hands-on help at the desktop level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot issues with applications and equipment.
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading hardware and software.
Follow up with client to confirm issues are satisfactorily complete.
Provide documentation to clients as needed.
Keep hardware inventory up to date.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma;
Two years of related experience and familiarity with multiple platforms;
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Comprehensive knowledge of new and current technologies including terminology appropriate to the area of assignment.
Computer applications related to the work.
Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Performing basic mathematical computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Performing data entry and formatting data using word processing and spreadsheets as required.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple demands.
Project Management best practices and terminologies.
Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues.
Ability and desire to take ownership of work assignments and drive tasks to completion.
Excellent Customer Service skills, especially acquiring ownership of all incidents.
Maintain and upgrade professional knowledge, skills, and development by attending seminars and training programs and reading trade and professional journals and publications.
