Information Technology Auditor Manager manages audit projects of information systems, platforms, and operating procedures following established policies and standards for efficiency, accuracy, and security. Coordinates resources and deliverables for annual and ongoing evaluations of IT infrastructure and establishes controls and audit procedures to identify areas of risk or non-compliance. Being an Information Technology Auditor Manager evaluates audit results and recommend improvements in current risk management controls, system implementation, and upgrade processes. Develops staff capabilities and competencies with training and coaching that reflect IT auditing best practices. Additionally, Information Technology Auditor Manager communicates overall regulatory, compliance, or operational readiness assessment results and follow-up action items to stakeholders. Coordinates external audit projects and initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Technology Auditor Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Technology Auditor Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary

    The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) relies on its IT systems to power its workforce by providing technological solutions that support effective and efficient processes and workflows. The IT Manager will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. The IT Manager will manage and oversee network maintenance, ensuring we consistently operate with advanced industry knowledge and security to keep us current on the best solutions and practices. 

    As the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and reliability of our technology infrastructure, managing a budget, overseeing the day-to-day IT team operations, and aligning IT strategies with our business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

    Responsibilities (may not be all-inclusive)

    • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
    • Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative
    • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
    • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
    • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
    • Supervise the IT Department to develop and maintain policies, work instructions, and training materials
    • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware. Ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of data, systems, and networks through regular monitoring and proactive measures. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and equipment.
    • Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute IT strategies that align with the company's business objectives. Identify opportunities for technological advancements and innovation to enhance business processes and productivity.
    • Create and manage the IT budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of the ISSNL websites and intranet
    • Project Management: Lead and coordinate IT projects, including software implementations, upgrades, and system enhancements. Define project scopes, objectives, and timelines and ensure successful project delivery.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals
    • User Support and Training: Provide technical support to end-users (onsite and remote), troubleshoot, and resolve IT-related problems. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the IT skills and knowledge of employees.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
    • Proven experience (10 years) in IT management
    • Previous management experience is strongly desired, as are exceptional leadership and communication skills focused on talent development and inspiring and motivating team members
    • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technologies
    • Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Certification in relevant IT areas (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) is desirable
