SUMMARY Key player in the documentation of the Bank’s IT General Controls (ITGCs). Partners with the IT business partners in documenting and evaluating IT controls through identifying risks, conducting process walkthroughs, performing tests of design (TOD), and performing tests of effectiveness (TOE) of ITGCs to evaluate internal controls compliance and implementation. Entails guiding process and control owners with respect to ITGC compliance, and captures remediation plans for control deficiencies, evaluates remediation efforts, and provides timely reports and status updates to management. Pivotal in reviewing, assessing, and evaluating reported control deficiencies, root causes, and coordinating corrective actions in conjunction with IT and business process owners. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned. ITGC Compliance: Includes performing IT General Controls (ITGC) and IT dependency testing, participating in annual and iterative planning and scoping activities. Further includes an understanding the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Section 404, PCAOB Standards, SEC reporting requirements, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and other applicable professional guidance. Internal Controls Evaluation: Conducts process walkthroughs, completion of tests of design (TOD) and tests of effectiveness (TOE) to evaluate internal controls compliance and implementation, evaluating audit findings, identifying control gaps and deficiencies, and reviewing and guiding in the design of appropriate internal controls for completeness and accuracy. Reviews and analyzes evidence to ensure control owners are consistently producing the required artifacts to maintain control effectiveness. Recommends control design optimization to allow control evidence to be created in repeatable, automated fashion when possible. Documentation and Reporting: Collaborates with business units and IT teams to understand and document the risks, end-to-end process, systems, automated application controls and key reports, supports and creates SOX ready documentation including narratives, flow charts, risks, control descriptions, etc., and prepares materials and SOX compliance findings. Collaboration and Coordination: Works closely with IT and Business process owners, control owners, the internal audit group, and the IT, Security, Engineering, Data and Compliance teams, coordinating with control owners for effective SOC/SOX compliance, and working with internal and external auditors to coordinate ITGCs and automated controls testing, and process walkthroughs. Working in tandem with the internal audit group to design testing programs to ensure appropriate ITGC and SOX assertions can be made. Continuous Improvement: Seeks to continuously improve the ITGC program to drive efficiency and effectiveness through process and control optimization and automation, provides consulting on key IT initiatives, proposes process improvements aligned with industry standards, and makes improvement recommendations of the control environment. Third-Party Evaluations: Supports evaluation of third-party service providers for SOC reports, and conducts periodic reviews to ensure application controls and Segregation of Duties (SOD) are configured across the company’s systems. Training and Development: Leads training of process and control owners and related functions with respect to ITGCs and SOX compliance. Remediation Efforts: Works with the business units to develop remediation plans, provides timely reports and status updates to management, and reviews, assesses, and evaluates reported control deficiencies, root causes, and planned corrective actions in conjunction with IT and business process owners. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or related field or relevant technical experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT controls auditing, consulting, and/or implementing IT controls solutions. Experience in SOX design and operating effectiveness testing with an emphasis on quality work deliverables and associated audit documentation. Demonstrated experience in all phases of IT SOX control design, testing, reporting, and audit integration. Previous experience with GRC solutions is preferred but not required. Familiarity with financial services industry processes, regulations, and controls preferred, but not required. OTHER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS Proficiency in Risk frameworks and major auditing standards (COSO, GAAP, PCAOB, AICPA, CoBIT, NIST CSF, FFIEC CAT, etc.) Ability to quickly identify and effectively communicate key risks and potential impacts. Certifications: Globally accepted credentials such as CISA, CPA, CIA are preferred. Other certifications such as GIAC, CRISC, and CISSP are also beneficial. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $89,07 to $146,976 per year (in CO & WA), and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, this role is eligible to receive annual discretionary cash bonuses.
