IT Director - Job Description
Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.
Position Summary:
The IT Director supports the mission of our school by overseeing the IT department. The IT Director fills a crucial role by managing and providing the leadership and vision of the IT department. The IT Director will report to the Vice President of Finance and Operations.
Status: Full-Time / Exempt / 12-month
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the school's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the school's network, servers, and infrastructure.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of technology systems.
- Monitor and manage the school's hardware, software, and networking assets.
- Work closely with faculty to identify and implement innovative educational technologies that enhance classroom instruction and engagement.
- Provide training and support for teachers and staff on effective technology integration.
- Ensure data accuracy, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Stay current with cybersecurity best practices and implement necessary measures to prevent data breaches.
- Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and responsible allocation of resources.
- Evaluate and recommend technology investments that align with the school's strategic priorities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate their potential for the school.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide professional development opportunities.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on workload.
- Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
- Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
- Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
- Other duties as assigned that are closely related.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
- Experience speaking and leading presentations in front of large groups.
- Strong enterprise networking background required in environments supporting large numbers of users/devices.
- Experience with installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks supporting VoIP telephony and managing IT equipment and service vendors.
- Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, and ability to identify and resolve technically oriented problems.
- Problem solving aptitude and the ability to make strategic decisions that align with the school’s objectives.
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and implement work in a disciplined manner to keep multiple projects progressing to completion simultaneously with minimal direction.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X and iOS, and Google environments, including Microsoft Active Directory, System Center, SQL server and Exchange/Office365, IIS and other applications.
- Experience with system development, complex project management, knowledge of Cisco and Adtran network hardware, client/server technology, Internet/intranets, and LAN/WAN network architecture development.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field and 5 year’s management/leadership experience in an educational environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
