Information Technology Director establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals for the information technology department. Analyzes the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems. Being an Information Technology Director manages the research and selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Information Technology Director typically reports to a CIO. The Information Technology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Information Technology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • The Information Technology Director will plan, direct, and manage the IT Department in order to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient/secure computer operations to meet current and future business needs. This person will provide Firm-wide direction and support for network administration, help desk, hardware and software management, software application and web-based development and audio-visual systems.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration
    • 10 years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects. Professional services industry or law firm experience preferred.
    Required Skills/Working Knowledge:
    • Develop and deploy strategic plans identifying information technology applications to support firm objectives and build a platform for future growth. Participate as a key member of the firm technology committee, working with to develop the strategic plan and present to firm management.
    • Direct the design, development and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the needs of the firm. Evaluate equipment, software, and processes continuously, recommending changes as appropriate and executing installation.
    • Manage and monitor budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities ensuring that allocations are accurate, and expenses are within budget limits.
    • Establish IT policies, standards, practices, and security measures and ensure they are documented, effective, consistent, and repeatable. Ensure system administration policies are compliant with audit, security, and other governance principles.
    • Create project plans that include the steps required to implement technology initiatives including developing project schedules with appropriate resources, adequate funding, and timely delivery. Participate in all aspects of project deployment including product research, vendor interviewing, contracting and IT testing.
    • Lead the infrastructure team that monitors, manages, and maintains connectivity of all network resources including servers, desktops, laptops, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
    • Plan and schedule installation of hardware upgrades, software updates and upgrades and installation of new products. Procure equipment when needed.
    • Oversee administration of Enterprise-class applications which will include but are not limited to the iManage Document Management System, Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Exchange, Elite Enterprise/Aderant Sierra, BEC Docket, Active Directory, SQL, and other internal applications.
    • Solid understanding of virtualization concepts including VMWare features and functionality.
    • Experience implementing, operating, and maintaining all aspects of mobile technology (video conferencing, teleconferencing, smart devices, etc.).
    • Experience supporting PC’s, laptops, workstations, and associated software for at least 200 end users.
    • Strong understanding of technical architectures including LANS, WANS and VPN.
    • Lead a team of professional staff members, including evaluate, coach, and provide training and professional development.
    • Create communication, collaboration and coordination processes that assure all staff are informed of department policies, issues, and guidance that they are expected to support.
    • Implement practices that focus on service excellence to all firm members.
