The Director of Information Technology (IT) will lead technology initiatives and continue to drive innovation, efficiency and deliver exceptional value to our internal and external constituents.  The Director of IT is a visionary and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of technology trends, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspirer and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals. This person will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

    Essential Functions:

    The Director of Information Technology, as a member of the Core Division, plays a pivotal role in shaping our technological landscape, ensuring seamless integration of systems, and fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.  The Director of IT is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our technology infrastructure, from managing multiple projects to educating employees on new platforms and technologies. This position drives initiatives around the business support activities and process improvement at an organization level for successful implementation. 

     

    This position provides thought-leadership, works autonomously at times, and supports multiple program areas and their technology needs bringing in-depth expertise on business and technical knowledge across these domains. This role is pivotal in ensuring that technology infrastructure, systems, and processes support the organization’s goals and enable us to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving landscape. It requires broad technology knowledge, business acumen and the ability to provide strategic technical direction and leadership.  The Director of IT will develop and execute a comprehensive technology plan that encapsulates the organization’s technological vision, strategies goals and objectives, that aligns with the organization’s strategic plan.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology plan that encapsulates the organization’s technological vision, strategies goals and objectives, that aligns with the organization’s strategic plan.
    • Recruit, develop and retain high-performing teammates and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful implementation of projects. Develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of teammates directly and indirectly.
    • Responsible for project and product management. Responsible to support the creation of technology-business cases, sketch the plan for the desired business outcomes (short, medium, and long term) and translate the plan into the strategic objectives.
    • Assists in negotiations with external consultants or technology vendors. Facilitates communication between teams within the organization as necessary. May serve as a project resource to leadership or as a part of larger technology initiatives.
    • Responsible for reporting and metrics. Develops methods of tracking progress and performance of the tech function. Analyzes results to determine potential issues, risks, and enhancements. Conveys recommendations to leadership through reports or other documentation.
    • Prioritize and manage multiple technology projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and deadlines in a complex organizational environment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technological needs and opportunities for improvement, driving efficiency and productivity across the organization.
    • Educate employees on existing and new technology platforms, providing training and support to ensure widespread adoption and utilization.
    • Evaluate existing technology platforms and identify opportunities for migration to new platforms, working closely with vendors to execute seamless transitions.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with technology vendors, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions with final approval from the COO.
    • Create IT policies
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our competitive advantage.
    • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, board members, and other constituents to provide updates, insights, and recommendations on technology-related matters.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
    • Adhere to all organization’s policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

    • Proven track record of building and managing a team.
    • Proven track record of leadership and strategic vision in a technology-related role, preferably in a complex organizational environment.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Experience managing technology migrations and working with vendors to implement solutions in a timely manner.
    • In-depth knowledge of technology platforms and systems, with the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential challenges proactively.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred AND 6 years in marketing, banking, strategy, business planning, scaling an organization and/or driving change. 
    • Microsoft Office 365, SPARK (or other banking platforms, ie. Oracle), Salesforce

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements: 

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
