We're seeking a leader who can holistically envision conducive classroom environments and how AV and other technologies support these. The ideal candidate will be able to align these classroom environments with Penn's evolving use cases for learning. Success is dependent on strong, collaborative partnerships with the Office of the Provost, the Office of the University Registrar, colleagues in Information Systems & Computing Technology Services, Facilities & Real Estate Services, IT Procurement, School IT teams, higher education peers, the Central Pool Classroom Committee, and strategic vendors. We're looking for someone excited by the trends in pedagogy and AV technologies who can incorporate faculty and student needs into decisions regarding the evolution of classroom design. They will continue to cultivate an established AV community engaged in recommending baseline standards, understanding new and emerging AV technologies and their application in our environment, and sharing challenges and solutions. The candidate will lead and manage a high-functioning team that provides consistent, reliable AV technology, design, installation, and support for Penn's Central Pool Classrooms. The candidate will have administrative responsibility for long-rang planning, budget management, project management, vendor relationship management, as well as team management and development. Job Description Job Responsibilities Direct and lead the planning, design, installation, and support for Penn's Central Pool Classrooms, including budget, project, and vendor management. This includes 1 to 6 year planning, budget projections, an overall budget management. Managing, through IT Project Leaders, annual installation, renovation, and upgrade projects. Managing strategic partnerships with relevant integrators and service providers. Ensure alignment between classroom environments and the evolving needs of our faculty and students. Cultivate strong collaborative partnerships with the Office of the Provost and with the team of people across campus responsible for creating and supporting classroom environments. These partnerships allow for a holistic approach to our evolving learning spaces. Leading and directing the campus-wide AV Tech committee and Classroom Technology committee. Participating in the Faculty Advisory committee. Explore trends in pedagogy and AV technologies and advise on their applicability in our learning spaces. Active participation in the Ivy Classroom Technology Group, and relevant conferences and consortia. Lead, manage, and develop a high-functioning, self-motivated team of professionals responsible for the successful use of central pool classrooms. Qualifications Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Foundational knowledge of AV and general classroom technologies. Experience designing, installing and supporting classroom technologies. Experience leading, managing and developing a high-functioning team. Familiarity with multi-year planning, budgeting and project management. Strong listening, communication, collaboration, and team building skills. Genuine interest in exploring new developments in pedagogy and AV technologies. Must be flexibility and adaptability. Must be able to cultivate teamwork and accountability. Ability to create a shared vision and instill a strong sense of purpose within the team. Understanding of, and appreciation for academic environments.
