INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST performs overall information systems planning, implementation and administrative procedures in a variety of IT functional areas. Provides operational infrastructure support, maintenance, troubleshooting to ensures optimum utilization of IT resources. Being an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST may be involved in hardware/software/vendor selection, security, training, coordination and scheduling of IT initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Job Details
The candidate should also have MIS Business Analysis experience from a small firm or financial start-up, where they are comfortable working across all of the firm's business areas and can be nimble to respond to changing business application priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous support for the firm's investment and operational process, procedures, and controls
- Assist in programming for onboarding and implementing information systems and applications
- Support the IT infrastructure of an active investment manager
- Work closely with business units, (portfolio managers, risk managers, operations, and technology) to understand business requirements
- Author business requirements and manage the implementation with IT and the business
- Perform functional testing of all technology enhancements
Requirements:
- 5 years working in business analyst roles with an alternative investment firm or small hedge fund.
- Must have a deep understanding of end-to-end investment operations lifecycle
- Must understand software development principles
- Must have hands-on current programming skills to support the technology team
- Must have hands-on experience working with investment information systems such as Geneva, Dynamo, Backstop, Dealcloser, Salesforce, NetSuite, and Tableau
- Financial Start-up BA experience a plus
- Must have superior communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work independently to achieve results
