    SUMMARY:

    The Information Systems Manager works with internal business owners to interpret and actualize continual process improvement requirements. This role coordinates department requests for functionality, typically obtained through deeper or broader implementation of the applications and information systems, to include computer networks, internet systems, mid-range systems, and telecommunications. This position is the primary "go to" person for requirements post-deployment and is a key player in developing and managing the "roadmap" for the platforms.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Contributes to the user experience with Epicor products, tools, and services in a way that results in high customer satisfaction

    · Researches thoroughly all aspects of business process issues; recommends and drives improvement solutions to successful project completion

    · Creates achievable schedule and deliverables by defining the scope, objectives, metrics and plan for both business process improvements and specific projects

    · Identifies areas that information technology can be applied to improve the function of the business

    · Selects technology, creates specifications, and interfaces with vendors. Suggests corporate wide standards and policies necessary for information systems operation.

    · Prepares departmental and capital equipment budget

    · Plans, designs, prototypes, and implements selected systems

    · Manages telecommunications systems including PBX, T1& ISDN lines, internet, and remote access.

    · Manages NT, UNIX, and wireless computer networks

    · Reports on project / business process status highlighting critical paths and bottlenecks

    · Manages the operational aspects of the application interfaces, user access and application security

    · Effectively communicates relevant project information to business process owners and resolves issues in a timely fashion

    · Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and data security procedures

    · Performs all normal supervisory functions, to include hiring, training, appraisal, counseling, and discipline

    · Gathers feedback and identifies problem areas for resolutions for all corporate business entities 

    · Performs other duties as required

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Positions that report to this position: Systems Analyst, Application Analyst, Report Writer(s), Help Desk, Network Administrator(s) 


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT Technology, Network Systems, or other related field 

    · Minimum seven years of related systems experience

    · Minimum three years of supervisory experience 


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    · Ability to translate technical specifications into customer/business requirements

    · Experience troubleshooting and finding multiple solutions to a complex problem

    · Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

    · Experience working within both a team environment and independently

    · Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

    · Ability to synthesize and interpret technical data 

    · Must have strong technical and administrative skills 

    · Must be able to interrelate well with personnel at all levels and possess good oral and written English communication skills

    · Strong customer service skills and must be able to promote a team environment

    · Must have demonstrated proficiency in systems implementation and management 


    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    · The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation, and laboratory and clean room facilities

    · The incumbent is routinely required to (sit, stand, walk, touch, see, hear, etc)

    · The incumbent must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

    · While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
