GENERAL SUMMARY

The purpose of this job is to supervise staff in the analysis, design, and implementation of technology initiatives. Manages vendors. Oversees the installation, administration, and maintenance of technology infrastructure and applications. Assists in determining IT needs and objectives and in audits and security. Participates in budgeting and purchasing decisions for hardware and software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises the work of assigned personnel including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Assesses County system performance; coordinates maintenance for all hardware devices.
• Assesses requests for new software/hardware and related technology; determines financial benefits of new systems or upgrades.
• Manages large countywide or multiple department projects on technical matters.
• Assists the Director with internal requests, audits, security, budgeting, and purchasing decisions.
• Performs technical tasks; makes technical configuration changes; escalates concerns.
• Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a related field.
• 7 to 9 years of related work experience in information technology.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
