Information Technology Supervisor supervises employees of the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Ensures proper functioning of the organization's information systems and makes upgrades as necessary. Being an Information Technology Supervisor helps business operations groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor follows appropriate programming procedures. Responds to complex, escalated matters and ensures projects are conducted effectively and recommendations and reports are accurate and timely. A level II supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day-to-day operations of group. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. ResponsibilitiesWe’re seeking a highly motivated information technology student for a cooperative educational (Coop) position in our Huntsville, AL office. Actively participate in the day-to-day lab related activities of the Army Field Integration team. Will be trained to provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Review existing technical solutions for improvements and efficiencies of our software modules. Help perform analysis of system operations and troubleshooting of operating systems/database management and network systems. Utilize analytical data to identify operational trends and implement escalation and resolution techniques
Qualifications- Full time student, majoring in Information Technology or related degree.
- Initiative, positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt well to different situations and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
