Information Technology Supervisor supervises employees of the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Ensures proper functioning of the organization's information systems and makes upgrades as necessary. Being an Information Technology Supervisor helps business operations groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor follows appropriate programming procedures. Responds to complex, escalated matters and ensures projects are conducted effectively and recommendations and reports are accurate and timely. A level II supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day-to-day operations of group. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a Supervisor of Information Technology at the Hogan Administrative Center beginning as soon as possible or July 1, 2024.

    ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
    The Supervisor of Information Technology provides leadership, supervision, facilitation, and coordination for all tasks and elements required to effectuate comprehensive integration of appropriate technology in every facet of instruction and operations. The Supervisor of Information Technology employs equitable practices, a servant leadership approach, and a growth mindset while working in partnership with district teammates. As a key member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, the Supervisor of Information Technology collaborates with district administrators to provide strategic direction and implement systemic and ongoing improvements toward the actualization of Board of Education and District goals.
    POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
    Recruited by: Director of Human Resources
    Salary: Set annually by the Board of Education/Superintendent
    Length of Contract: 12/24 months
    Position Start Date: As soon as possible, but no later than July 1, 2024

    POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
    Reports to: Associate Superintendent of Instruction
    Coordinates with: All Administrators
    Supervises Directly: Technology Department personnel (Network, Data, and Technical Services)

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
    A. Required experience and training: Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) required, or must be obtained within one year of hire
    B. Preferred experience and training:
    a. Minimum of five (5) years successful experience related to K-12 technology leadership
    b. Demonstrated current and progressive knowledge of information, data management, communications, and infrastructure technologies that support the operations of the School District of La Crosse
    c. Demonstrated current and progressive knowledge of instructional technologies that support a highly productive, creative and equitable digital learning environment for each and every student
    d. Successful experience with program development and stewardship
    e. Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills in working with adults
    C. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Mindset: A passion for students and educational equity; exceptional facilitation skills; ability to galvanize groups around district initiatives; analytical and creative problem-solving abilities; self-directed; servant leadership focus; excellent oral and written communication skills with the versatility to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders; reflective, purpose-driven, and team-oriented.
