Information Technology Supervisor supervises employees of the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Ensures proper functioning of the organization's information systems and makes upgrades as necessary. Being an Information Technology Supervisor helps business operations groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor follows appropriate programming procedures. Responds to complex, escalated matters and ensures projects are conducted effectively and recommendations and reports are accurate and timely. A level II supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day-to-day operations of group. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     What you’ll do:

    • Provides technical assistance to Missouri marketing, cooperative education, business education, and information technology teachers including but not limited to curriculum, instruction, professional development, and program improvement
    • Interfaces with Missouri Marketing and Cooperative Education Association (MCEA) and Missouri Business Education Association (MBEA) including planning and facilitating board meetings and conferences
    • Serves as a State Advisor for DECA – Plans and conducts DECA conferences, board meetings, workshops, and professional development activities for teachers and students
    • Participates in state and national professional associations
    • Recruits, assigns, and manages the mentoring program for business, marketing and cooperative education teachers
    • Reviews and approves funding requests and disbursing funds to career education programs
    • Works with section staff to maintain the BMIT / DESE website and document links
    • Plans all Emerging Technology workshops
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a major in business/marketing education from an accredited four-year college or university or closely-related degree.
    • Three or more years of teaching, coordinating, or supervising business, marketing, and cooperative education or closely-related experiences.
