 Essential Functions and Qualifications

• CNC Programmers routinely make decisions regarding selection of cutting tools, cutting feeds and speeds for those tools. They create appropriate, efficient tool path.
• They are expected to examine a part for manufacturability, and offer improvements or enhancements for a part to allow practical machining. They need an understanding of the methodology used for part mounting. These situations occur daily.
• Ability to program prismatic and complex topologies for short run tool-room production. A background in Unigraphics NX11 or newer CAD/CAM is required. Must be able to program 3, 4, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal milling machines, 2 axis, and 2 axis plus C-axis and live tooling lathe.
• Knowledge of plastic injection mold making, high speed machining, electrode, fixture, and jig design/manufacturing, mold-frame manufacturing is important.
• Key skills include teamwork, communication, organization, creativity, accuracy, logic, mathematics, spatial relations, manufacturing strategies, machinability data, and tooling selection.
• Understanding of the Microsoft Windows directory file structure.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 5-15 years as a Programmer, Unigraphics NX experience highly preferred.
