Injection Molding Machine Operator sets up and operates injection molding machinery to shape plastics. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Injection Molding Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Injection Molding Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Injection Molding Machine Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Our equipment includes the latest technology in 5 axis Mill/Turn, 3 & 4 axis CNC Milling, CNC Turning, and Large boring mills. Baron Machine has been in business for over 60 years servicing diverse industries including Aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, and countless other commercial high-tech markets.
Responsibilities / Skills- Minimum 3 years of experience in a job shop environment.
- Self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through while maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace.
- Operate CNC Mills to produce parts meeting specifications as tight as ±.0005” on materials including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, titanium, etc.
- Work from job travelers, manufacturing drawings, tool drawings and sketches with ability to read and interpret specifications and inspection instructions to determine product conformance.
- Check dimensions and quality of work using optical comparators, indicators, micrometers, calipers, pitch micrometers, bore gages, etc.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances.
- Maintain condition of machines, performing such work as clean, lubricate, adjust, etc.
- Clean scrap and chips from machine and separate and identify work and scrap.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with coworkers at all levels of the organization.
