Injection Molding Machine Operator jobs in Knoxville, TN

This position will be responsible for:

• Setting up, trouble shooting and maintaining molding machines, molds, material and their processes
• Continually monitor and troubleshoot all processes related to injection molding and perform adjustments as needed to ensure jobs are running to standard rates (labor, cycle time, scrap rate, etc.).
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
• Ensures presses are running correct cycle times and match what is documented.
• Accurately record process specifications on cycle sheets.
• Perform thorough part inspections and make appropriate changes relative to part quality requirements.
• Thoroughly understand materials and the inner workings of injection molds and molding machines, while supporting daily production identify solutions for chronic issues and problems that cannot be resolved by production associates.
• This position will be able to understand, read and modify robot programs, inspects molds for correct set up and checks to ensure proper materials are at the press prior to start.
• Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organizations as this position will regularly meet with the shift supervisor and Engineering staff to discuss any and all issues relating to the production floor.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
• Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency and utilization.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
• Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position could be a technician, or a specialist position based off of education and experience of candidate.

Must have:

• Desire to learn new things beside injection molding.
• Willing to learn basic assembly processes and process controls.
• Willing to support maintenance and manufacturing on a daily basis.
• Good communication and relationships with support groups such as Manufacturing, Mold Maintenance and General Maintenance.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3-5 yrs experience in processing injection molding, automotive based under hood type products.
• Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work overtime.
