Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. The Department of Health Services (DHS) Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting to fill a Training Director vacancy.
This position will generally work Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, though some night hours may be necessary to oversee or facilitate training scheduled during evening hours.

As the Training Director, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Training programs you will oversee include Psychiatric Care Technician Advanced, and DHS Officer Pre-Service; New Employee Training, Principles of Subject Control; Annual Update Training; Train the Trainers and more. You will also be responsible for the supervision of assigned staff in the Training Department. You will partner with the Nursing Supervisor to ensure supervisory collaboration within the training environment and appropriate incorporation of National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) accreditation requirements. This position also connects with and provides connection to the DHS Training Team.
The starting pay is between $40.00 and $43.46 per hour (approximately between $83,200 and $90,300 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Staff Development Program Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/03.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility within 30 days of hire.
All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
