Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Full Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday


    Position Summary:
    This job requires 30% travel or less domestically. Occasionally, depending on need, international travel is required. The job requires relocating to St. Joseph, Michigan. The applicant should have the willingness to travel to customer sites on short notice if necessary. Good communications skills and readiness to work with a wide variety of our customers is required. Furthermore, the applicant has to be capable to offer customer support by phone, email, or using platforms such as GOTO meeting. Since the applicant will be representing LECO Corporation in front of its customers, good interpersonal skills are a must.     Position Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for instructing technical/software courses to LECO customers
    • Provide in-depth product knowledge to LECO Service personnel (domestic and global)
    • Assist with training program for newly hired Service Department employees
    • Assist with yearly training program for LECO Service personnel (domestic and global)
    • Work with LECO Service personnel to resolve customer computer and instrumentation problems
    • Develop and maintain accuracy in training material (written, electronic, video)
    • Testing and maintenance of training instruments and computers
    • Possess mechanical aptitude for product demonstrations during training course if required
    • Support testing and validation of instrument software programs and prototype instrumentation
    • Liaison with Sales and the Applications group in addressing customer needs
    • Help resolve daily customer concerns (both software- and hardware-related) and maintain professional customer relationships

    Position Requirements:
    • Minimum of 2 years industrial experience working with analytical instrumentation
    • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in chemistry with a background in analytical chemistry (or advanced quantitation skills)
    • Working knowledge of GCxGC, GC-TOFMS, LC-MS or other Separation Science products with at least two years hands-on experience
    • Must be able to operate independently and have strong interpersonal and customer communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package is required
    • Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures, and generate Training material. Teaching experience is desirable
    • Work experience with software programming skills desirable
    • Should be willing to work outside normal hours on occasion, especially when you are dealing with customers during training sessions
    • Ability to perform routine instrument maintenance operations safely and effectively
    • Collaborative team based attitude with willingness to learn
    • Ability to give presentations with clarity
    • Ability to understand and adapt product capabilities to customer’s needs where applicable

    Education/Certifications:
    • Minimum* of Bachelor’s Degree in the physical sciences; background in analytical chemistry a plus
    • Special consideration for recent graduates is a possibility depending on skills and depth of knowledge on relevant technology
