Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job responsibilities: Substance Abuse Counselor Is perform moderately complex substance abuse counseling work within Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility (SAFPF) / In-Prison Therapeutic Community (IPTC) programs. Work involves planning, coordinating, and implementing substance abuse counseling activities; and coordinating with other departments.

    Essential functions:

    • Provides substance abuse counseling and recovery skills training; participates in offender orientation, educational and individual and process counseling groups in compliance with program standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain a therapeutic community (TC) within the facility working closely with correctional staff to create a living environment that is peer driven.
    • Interviews, screens, and evaluates offenders for potential program participation.
    • Provides a comprehensive evaluation from a battery of valid measurement tools to assess the recovery needs and the re-offense risk of offenders.
    • Participates in the Individual Treatment Plan based on the severity and characteristics of the offender as determined by the comprehensive assessment, review of collateral information, and the Clinical interview.

    Position requirements:

    • Graduation from an accredited senior high school, GED, or equivalent.
    • Must have a letter of registration as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I or CI) or a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license from the Texas Department of State Health Services or current certification as Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Applicant (CCJP-A) or a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Applicant (CCJP) as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
    • Selected applicants must obtain the Licensed Clinical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license or the Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) certification within five years from the date of their registration as a Counselor Intern or CCJP-A.
    • Must sign a Credential Contingency Agreement that will remain in effect only until the initially established expiration date. Failure to comply with this contingency statement will result in separation from employment. Credential Contingency Agreements will not be extended or renewed as a result of an employee’s separation from employment or acceptance of another position.
    • Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
