Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     ROLE:

    The Director of Training and Development will focus on designing, developing, and implementing training programs to address the learning and development needs of our employees. This role is dynamic and strategic, requiring a combination of leadership, technical expertise, communication skills, and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics to drive effective training and development initiatives that contribute to employee success and organizational excellence.


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • DEVELOPMENT:
      • Design and implement a comprehensive training and development strategy aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
      • Develop and oversee training programs for each department, including on-the-job training, workshops, seminars, and e-learning courses.
      • A heavy emphasis will be placed on improving the skill sets of our hourly field labor pool consisting of carpenters, laborers, painters, sparklers, and wood installers
      • Create and manage a comprehensive training program for employees at all levels, focusing on both hard and soft skills.
      • Regularly assess training needs through surveys, interviews, or consultations
      • In conjunction with Compliance, ensure all employees are trained on the latest safety protocols and standards, reducing the risk of on-site accidents.
      • Ensure the company stays at the forefront of the construction industry through training initiatives.
      • Monitor the latest trends in training and development, ensuring our programs remain current and competitive.
      • Implement leadership and management training programs to cultivate the next generation of company leaders.
    • ONBOARDING/OFFBOARDING:
      • Develop and execute a robust onboarding program for new hires, ensuring they are well-integrated into the company culture and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
      • Set clear 30/60/90/120-day goals for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
      • Create and implement an SOP for proper onboarding for each position.
      • Develop a tracking system and administer an onboarding plan across all departments.
      • Collaborate with Human Resources to establish an offboarding process that incorporates gathering feedback about training effectiveness and ensures knowledge transfer from departing employees. 
    • CULTURE:
      • Develop initiatives that promote a positive work environment and foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
      • Participate in the planning and organization of company events to incorporate learning and development initiatives into the agenda.
      • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and KPIs, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
      • Incorporate elements of recognition and rewards into training programs to reinforce behaviors that align with the desired company culture. Celebrate achievements and demonstrate appreciation for employees who embody cultural values to reinforce those values throughout the organization.
    • REPORTING/MANAGEMENT:
      • Provide regular updates to senior management on training initiatives, progress, and results.
      • Allocate and manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all training programs.
      • Collaborate with department heads and managers to identify training needs based on performance metrics and evaluations.
      • Evaluate and select external training vendors and resources, ensuring alignment with company needs and values.


    EDUCATION:


    • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education, instructional design, human resources, organizational psychology, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred, but not required.


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    • 5-10 years of experience in roles such as training coordinator, instructional designer, corporate trainer, or training manager.
    • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, training delivery techniques, and evaluation strategies. Experience developing and delivering training programs across various formats (e.g., instructor-led, e-learning, blended learning) is essential.
    • Proficiency with training technology and learning management systems (LMS). Should be comfortable using various software tools and platforms to design, deliver, and track training initiatives.
