Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The primary job functions of the Assistant Salon Director are broken into 4 key categories:
    1. Leadership:
    • The SDIT is an elevated assistant manager position that learns all aspects of salon functions from the TC position to the SD position.
    • As an SDIT, you will learn all SD responsibilities to help assist the SD in daily operations and be fully prepared to run your own salon.
    • As an SDIT, you have the opportunity to assist in leading the team by setting a positive example for employees in all aspects of the job. SDIT should always conduct themselves in a professional manner and display characteristics of leadership. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Consistently executing sales strategies and must-see behaviors with excellence.
    • Maintaining and driving productivity.
    • Following all company policies and programs.
    • Exhibiting a positive, upbeat, and encouraging attitude.
    • Managing with INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and KNOWLEDGE that promote the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
    • Providing exceptional client services to all clients through:
    • Exemplifying a “client comes first” attitude at all times.
    • Monitoring dirty bed times to prevent unnecessary waiting for clients.
    • Handling any client complaints/concerns when SD is not present at salon.
    • Dressing the part by following Management dress code policy every shift worked. ASDs are to dress for success and present themselves professionally. Clients should know that you are a member of management based on your appearance, without having to look at your nametag.
    2. Sales Development and Team Building:
    • As an SDIT, you will have the opportunity and are expected to assist in developing all TCs through:
    • Constant coaching, role plays, and feedback (minimum of 2 coaching and/or role play forms per shift).
    • Positive praise when deserved.
    • Monitoring productivity and driving sales.
    • Holding team members accountable for their actions.
    • Motivating staff and boosting Tanning Consultants’ morale.
    • Preparing and sending motivational elyncs as well as weekend focus eylncs. Ensure to always copy SD and DM on these elyncs.
    • SDITs are required to work a 5 day workweek of 35 hours per week (minimum), and this will consist of primarily nights and weekends to promote development of TCs, as the SDIT schedule should be developed around SD schedule.
    • Assisting with training and development of new hires.
    3. Operational Task:
    • As an SDIT, you will continually be challenged to grow in your position by assisting in the daily management of the salon, which will include:
    • Verifying and filing new tanner forms on every shift worked. Check forms to ensure that there were no typing errors and that emails were captured.
    • Verifying and filing customer cancellation/freeze forms. Always ensure to update any changes to client email addresses.
    • Complete two inventory spot checks per week. SD/DM may require additional spot checks based on shrink percent of salon.
    • Updating the Employee Bonus Viewer daily on days SD is not opening or working.
    • Monitoring salon labor to prevent overage.
    • Enforcing breaks (including your own).
    • Working around the schedule of the Salon Director (your schedule will consist primarily of nights and weekends).
    • Assigning TCs additional tasks to keep employees busy during down time.
    • Open communication with SD about all aspects of the salon.
    • Completing any additional task that SD assigns (example: SD/DM may require you to complete ASD weekly checklist.)
    4. Daily/Monthly Cleaning:
    • As an SDIT, you will have the opportunity to promote a clean environment for our guests by:
    • Verifying that daily cleaning from previous day was completed if opening (complete any items that were not completed). Follow up and accountability should follow to associates that did not complete daily cleaning duties.
    • Completing daily cleaning list every shift worked.
    • Assigning and participating in monthly deep cleans. Ensure to assign yourself rooms to deep clean and your SD should verify your deep cleans were completed to expectations.
    • Verifying all deep cleans upon completion and providing feedback to staff.
    • Assigning filters, as well as verifying completion, on a weekly basis.
    • Completing a SVC on your first shift of the week and properly communicating specific salon needs to staff.
    • Utilizing any down time as an opportunity to clean!
